No. You set the floor price, regions, countries, channels and which buyers see each lot. No offer below your floor gets through, and lots can stay out of your core markets. What kind of stock can I sell? Start with excess, seasonal and short-dated stock, overruns and closeouts. Once those buyers are in place, the same channels take your full range into new towns and countries. Who are the buyers? Verified distributors, wholesalers, online sellers, value retailers and importers. Every buyer passes GST or VAT and KYC checks, and you approve each one. Which markets do you cover? India is live. Southeast Asia (Malaysia first) and the Gulf (the UAE first) are next. Lots move between markets only where you allow. Who handles payment, invoices and delivery? Buyers pay in advance before dispatch. We arrange pickup, GST or VAT invoices and export papers through logistics partners. Can I pull a lot after it is live? Yes. Pause or pull a lot at any time and it comes down within 24 hours. What does it cost? No listing fee and nothing up front. You pay a commission only on what sells. #### For buyers Who can buy on Lotvine Store? Registered businesses: distributors, wholesalers, retailers, online sellers and importers. Apply with your GST or VAT details. Every lot shows stock, expiry and minimum order before you buy, and you can take the whole lot or make an offer. ### Start with one lot. Tell us what you have. Book 30 minutes #### Then grow into everyday B2B sales. - Surplus and overstock Excess, seasonal and short-dated stock. - Off-price, every month Overruns and closeouts, on a schedule. - Your full range Full-price sales in new towns and countries. I’m a brand I’m a buyer Name Company Work email WhatsApp or phone What stock do you want to move? --- # Sell surplus and excess stock to verified B2B buyers | Lotvine URL: https://lotvine.com/surplus-stock/ ## Sell surplus stock without cutting your own price. Excess, seasonal and overrun stock loses value every week it sits. Lotvine's AI finds distributors, wholesalers, online sellers and importers who will buy it, and closes each sale above the floor price you set. ### What counts as surplus Any stock your current channels will not take at a price you accept. Most brands start with one of these. #### Excess and overstock More units than your distributors and retailers will take this season. #### Seasonal lines Festive packs, summer ranges and gift sets once the season has passed. #### Overruns Production runs that came in above the order. #### Closeouts Discontinued SKUs and end-of-line ranges, sold as single lots or bundles with a full SKU manifest. #### Short-dated stock Lines with limited shelf life left. How we sell short-dated stock. ### Why a discount sale at home costs more than it brings in The usual fix for surplus is a deep discount through your own distributors or a marketplace sale. The cut price then sits next to your full-price stock. Your retailers see it, your own online sellers have to match it, and some buyers learn to wait for the next sale. Lotvine sells the same stock one level up, to businesses outside your core markets and channels. You choose which towns, countries and channels are open for each lot, so the lower price never lands where your regular stock sells. ### How Lotvine sells it One stock file in. You set the rules, the AI finds the buyers and negotiates every deal. - List your stock Upload an Excel, CSV or ERP export. The AI turns it into lots. - Choose buyers and set your floor Pick buyer types and regions, and the lowest price you will take. - The AI reaches the buyers It matches each lot to distributors, online sellers, chains and importers, then pitches it on WhatsApp, email, voice calls and Lotvine Store, in the buyer's language. - The AI negotiates the deal It answers questions, handles counter-offers and pushes for the best price. It never goes below your floor. - Approve the deal Accept what it brings back, or let it close on autopilot. - Fulfil the order Hand over the stock. We arrange pickup and paperwork. - Get paid Buyers pay before dispatch. You get a report for every sale. ### Rules you set for every lot The AI works inside these. Change them per lot, at any time. #### Floor price The lowest price you will take for each lot. No offer below it reaches you. #### Regions and towns Sell in the metros, in tier-2 and tier-3 towns, or both. Keep lots out of the markets where your own sellers work. #### Countries Lots cross borders only where you allow. You pick every destination before a lot leaves. #### Channels Choose whether a lot can go to buyers who sell on marketplaces, or only to buyers who sell outside them. #### Brand name Show it or hide it. Private lots are shown only to the buyers you pick. #### How much the AI does Approve each buyer, approve each sale, or let it run on autopilot inside your rules. ### Who buys surplus stock Verified businesses only. Every buyer passes GST or VAT and KYC checks, and is profiled by category, region, order size and what they bought before. #### Distributors India has about 4 lakh FMCG distributors. Each one supplies many shops, so one buyer puts your stock in front of many shelves. #### Wholesalers and value retail Businesses that buy off-price stock regularly and sell it through their own stores. #### Online sellers Sellers who list branded stock on marketplaces. You decide whether a lot can go to them. #### Importers Buyers in the Gulf and Southeast Asia who take cartons to full containers. More on export. Source: FMCG distributors, Kotak Neo (AICPDF), May 2026. ### What it costs No listing fee and nothing up front. You pay a commission only on what sells. Buyers pay in advance before dispatch, and we arrange pickup, GST or VAT invoices and export papers. ### After the first lot Buyers who take your surplus come back for your full range. The path runs from one-off lots, to a regular monthly flow of overruns and closeouts, to full-price sales of your range in new towns and countries. See B2B distribution. ### Questions brands ask Will this hurt my brand's pricing? No. You set the floor price, regions, channels and which buyers see each lot. No offer below your floor gets through, and lots can stay out of your core markets. What kind of stock can I sell? Start with excess, seasonal, short-dated stock, overruns and closeouts. Once those buyers are in place, the same channels take your full range into new towns and countries. Which categories do you take? Personal care, apparel (shoes and bags), food and beverages, health supplements, toys, electronics (phones, cases and mobile accessories), furniture, home tools and auto tools. Ask us if yours is not listed. How fast does a lot go live? Send your stock file. We turn it into lots and share a reach plan within 48 hours. Can I pull a lot after it is live? Yes. You can pause or pull a lot at any time, and it comes down within 24 hours. What does it cost? No listing fee and nothing up front. You pay a commission only on what sells. ### Tell us what you have. Export Buyers in the Gulf and Southeast Asia, in countries you approve. B2B distribution Your full range, in towns and countries your team does not cover. --- # Sell short-dated and near-expiry stock to B2B buyers | Lotvine URL: https://lotvine.com/short-dated-stock/ ## Short-dated stock, sold while there is time to sell it. Stock with a few months of shelf life left still has buyers. Distributors, value retailers and importers buy it when the expiry is clear and the price fits. Lotvine's AI finds them and closes each sale above your floor price. ### Why short-dated stock gets stuck Large retail chains and quick-commerce warehouses often stop accepting a product once its remaining shelf life falls below their cut-off. The stock comes back to your warehouse, or never leaves it, while the date gets closer every week. The stock is still fine to sell, but your regular channels will not take it. Buyers that will are spread across thousands of towns, and your sales team has no time to call them one by one for a single lot. ### Who buys it - Distributors who supply small shops. About 90% of India's FMCG sales go through around 1.3 crore small shops, and those shops sell stock fast. - Value retailers and wholesalers who buy off-price stock every month. - Online sellers, if you allow marketplace channels for the lot. - Importers in the Gulf and Southeast Asia, for lots with enough shelf life left to ship. Source: kirana share of FMCG sales, Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, May 2026; kirana stores, Kotak Neo (AICPDF), May 2026. ### Built for speed With short-dated stock, every week counts. The process is set up so the first offers come in early. 48 hours #### Reach plan Send your stock file. We turn it into lots and share a reach plan within 48 hours. In parallel #### Many buyers at once The AI pitches each lot on WhatsApp, voice calls in the buyer's language, email and Lotvine Store at the same time. Up front #### Expiry on every lot Batch, expiry and minimum order show before a buyer makes an offer, so no deal falls apart late over the date. 24 hours #### Pull it any time If your own channel takes the stock back, pause or pull the lot. It comes down within 24 hours. ### An example lot A lot of green tea bags, 4,800 boxes of 50, in Kolkata, with a June 2027 expiry. The AI lists it with the expiry up front, matches it to distributors and value retailers in the regions you allow, and negotiates offers against your floor. You approve the deal, buyers pay before dispatch, and we arrange pickup. Example for illustration. Lots shown on lotvine.com are examples. ### India first, export where it fits An export shipment takes longer than a domestic sale, so stock with the shortest dates is better offered in India first. Lots with more shelf life left can go to importers in the countries you approve. See export. ### How it works - List your stock Upload an Excel, CSV or ERP export. ### Questions brands ask Does every lot show batch and expiry? Yes. Malaysia first, then Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines #### Southeast Asia $5T Consumer spending in the six largest markets by 2035, growing about 8% a year. Buyers: traders, online and live-commerce sellers, and regional chains. Live today #### India $1.4T General trade by 2030, up from $0.7T. A lot that would undercut your price in Mumbai can sell at a fair price in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur or Jakarta without your Indian buyers ever seeing it. You stay in control of where it goes. Lots cross borders only where you allow, and you pick every destination before a lot leaves. ### How an export sale works #### Verified importers Every buyer passes VAT and KYC checks, and is profiled by category, region, order size and past purchases. #### Outreach in their language The AI sends lot sheets and offers on WhatsApp, email and voice calls, where each buyer already trades. #### Paid before it ships Advance payment or a letter of credit on every export order. #### Paperwork handled We arrange pickup and export papers, and lots ship through our freight partners. #### Prices buyers can read Lotvine Store shows prices in 12 currencies. Apply to sell Book a 30-minute call --- # Sell excess stock in India without hurting your price | Lotvine URL: https://lotvine.com/blog/sell-excess-stock-without-hurting-price/ ## How to sell excess stock in India without hurting your brand's price Seven steps for brands with stock that will not move: value it, set a floor, fence it off from your own channels, and sell it one level up. By the Lotvine team · 30 October 2026 · 7 min read Every brand ends up with stock its regular channels will not take: a festive pack after the festival, an overrun from the factory, a SKU that never found its customers. The quick fix is a deep discount through your own distributors or a marketplace sale. That moves the units, but it puts a cut price next to your full-price stock, and your retailers notice. There is a better order of operations. These seven steps are how we think about it at Lotvine, and they work whether or not you use us. ### 1. Work out what the stock costs you to keep Before you decide on a price, put a number on holding the stock. Add warehouse space, the cash tied up in it, and the risk that it loses value or expires before it sells. For short-dated or seasonal stock that last part grows every week. This number tells you how much room you have. A lot that costs little to hold can wait for a good buyer. A lot that loses value every week should go to the first fair offer. ### 2. Set a floor price before you talk to buyers The floor is the lowest price you will accept for a lot. Set it per lot, not as one discount across everything, and decide it before the first offer arrives. Once a buyer names a number, it is hard to think clearly about what you would have taken. A useful floor sits above the point where holding the stock or writing it off becomes the better choice. Anything above the floor is a sale you are happy with. Anything below it is not a sale at all. Step 2 · Set a floor Offers below the floor never reach you. Offers above it are sales. Your floor ₹380 Writing it off or holding is better A sale you are happy with - ₹360 offer Below your floor. Blocked, and the AI counters. - ₹400 offer Above your floor. The AI counters at ₹420. - ₹410 agreed Inside your rules. You approve the deal. Example lot: 1,200 units of face serum. Prices per unit. Example lot with a floor of ₹380 a unit. The AI blocks lower offers and counters. ### 3. Keep the stock out of your own channels This step protects your price. Decide where a lot is allowed to sell, and where it is not: - Regions and towns. If your brand is strong in Mumbai and Delhi, sell the lot in tier-2 and tier-3 towns where you have no distributor, or abroad. - Channels. Keep lots away from marketplace sellers if your own online price matters to you. - Brand name. You can sell a lot without naming the brand in the listing, and show private lots only to buyers you pick. The lower price should never land in front of a retailer or customer who also buys your regular stock. Step 3 · Fence it off Choose where each lot may sell. Keep it away from your full-price stock. Open for this lot - Tier-2 and tier-3 towns Open - The Gulf and Southeast Asia Open - Distributors and wholesalers Open - Value retail Open Closed for this lot - Mumbai and Delhi Closed - Marketplace sellers Closed - Brand name in the listing Hidden - Buyers you have not approved Closed Rules are set per lot and can change at any time. ### 4. Sell one level up Selling excess stock to shops one at a time is slow. Selling it to the businesses that supply shops is fast. India has about 4 lakh FMCG distributors, and about 32 kirana stores for every one of them, so one distributor puts your stock in front of many shelves. The useful buyers for excess stock are distributors, wholesalers, value retailers, online sellers (if you allow them) and importers. Check each one: GST registration, KYC, and what they have bought before. A verified buyer is worth more than a fast one. Step 4 · Sell one level up One distributor, many shelves. Sell to the business that supplies the shops. Your lot 1,200 units, one stock file 1 distributor Verified, GST and KYC checked About 32 kirana stores per FMCG distributor in India Source: Kotak Neo (AICPDF), May 2026. ### 5. Package it as a lot a buyer can say yes to Buyers decide fast when the offer is clear. A good lot listing shows: - Product, pack size and quantity - Batch and expiry date - Where the stock sits - Minimum order, from cartons to a full container - Price per unit, or an invitation to make an offer Mixed leftovers can sell as a closeout bundle, as long as the buyer gets the full SKU manifest with quantities. Without it, buyers either pass or offer far less to cover the unknowns. ### 6. Get paid before the stock leaves Off-price buyers are often new to you. Ask for payment in advance, before dispatch. For export orders, a letter of credit works. This removes the collection risk that makes many brands avoid selling to new buyers at all. ### 7. Keep the buyers The buyer who takes one lot of excess stock is a buyer for the next one, and can become a buyer for your regular range in a town your team does not cover. Keep a record of who bought what, at what price and where. Next season you start with a list instead of a blank page. ### Where Lotvine fits Lotvine runs these steps for you. You upload one stock file and set the floor, regions, channels and which buyers see each lot. Lotvine's AI finds verified buyers, pitches each lot on WhatsApp, voice calls and email in the buyer's language, and negotiates within your floor. Buyers pay before dispatch, and we arrange pickup and paperwork. There is no listing fee; you pay a commission only on what sells. See how we sell surplus stock. Sources: FMCG distributors and kirana stores, Kotak Neo (AICPDF), May 2026. ### Common questions Will selling excess stock at a lower price hurt my brand? Only if the lower price reaches the buyers who pay full price. Keep lots out of your core towns and channels, hide the brand name where needed, and sell to businesses one level up. How do I set a floor price for excess stock? Set it per lot, above the point where holding or writing off the stock becomes the better choice, and decide it before the first offer arrives. Who buys excess stock in India? Distributors, wholesalers, value retailers, online sellers and importers. Check GST registration and KYC before you sell. ### Have stock that won't move? By the Lotvine team · 30 October 2026 · 6 min read Short-dated stock is stock with limited shelf life left. In FMCG, food and personal care it builds up for ordinary reasons: a forecast that ran high, a launch that sold slower than planned, a distributor that returned a batch. The product is fine. The problem is that your regular channels stop taking it. ### Why regular channels say no Large retail chains and quick-commerce warehouses often refuse a product once its remaining shelf life drops below their cut-off. They need time to sell it through to customers, and they do not want write-offs on their own shelves. So the stock comes back to you, or never leaves your warehouse, while the date keeps getting closer. That does not mean nobody wants it. It means the buyers are different, and you have to reach them before the date makes the decision for you. ### Who buys short-dated stock #### Distributors who supply small shops About 90% of India's FMCG sales go through around 1.3 crore small shops. Distributors who supply them move stock quickly because each one serves many shops. For a short-dated lot, that speed is what matters most. #### Value retailers and wholesalers Some businesses buy off-price stock every month and sell it through their own stores. They know how to price short-dated goods for their customers and they buy in volume. #### Online sellers Marketplace sellers buy branded stock to list online. Whether you allow this is your choice. If your own online price matters, keep short-dated lots away from marketplace channels. #### Importers Buyers in the Gulf and Southeast Asia take Indian brand stock, but shipping takes time. Offer lots with the shortest dates in India first, and send lots with more shelf life left abroad. ### What buyers need to see before they offer A buyer of short-dated stock is pricing risk. The less they know, the lower they offer. Give them, up front: - Expiry date and batch, exactly as printed on the pack - Quantity and pack size - Location of the stock - Minimum order - Price per unit, or a clear invitation to make an offer Showing the expiry up front also stops deals from falling apart late, when a buyer finds the date on the carton and walks away. Buyers price the risk they cannot see. Expiry, batch, quantity, location and minimum order, before the first offer. Example lot listing for illustration. ### Timing decides the price The more shelf life a lot has left, the more buyers can take it and the better the price. Each week you wait shrinks the list. The best time to offer short-dated stock is as soon as you know your regular channels will not take it, not when the date is close. Set a floor price per lot when you start, and review it as the date approaches. A floor that made sense with six months left may be too high with six weeks left. Timing decides the price Every week of shelf life lost takes buyers off the list. Illustration, not to scale. ### How to reach these buyers Most distributors and traders in India do business on WhatsApp and the phone, not on new apps. They answer a clear offer in their own language. Reaching enough of them by hand, one call at a time, is more than most sales teams can do for a single lot. Reach them where they trade Traders buy on WhatsApp and the phone. Offer the lot there, in their language. By the Lotvine team · 2 November 2026 · 4 min read Every online brand gets stock back. A customer changes their mind, a parcel is refused at the door, a box arrives with a crushed corner. Most of these units work, and many were never used. They can no longer go back out as new stock, so they sit in a corner of the warehouse while they lose value. Business buyers will take them if you sort, describe and price them the way those buyers check stock. Here is how, in five steps. ### 1. Sort returns by condition first A mixed pallet of returns is hard to price, so buyers offer low to cover what they cannot see. Sort every unit into a grade before you offer anything. Three grades cover most returns: - Like new. Unused, with all parts and the original box. The box may have been opened. - Open box. Opened or briefly used, works fully. The packaging may be damaged. - Used. Works, with visible signs of use. Keep faulty units out of these lots. If you want to sell them, list them as a separate lot and say plainly that they do not work. Returned earbuds Like new 540 units Open box 270 units Used 90 units Condition As you report it Minimum order Set per lot Sort before you sell One lot, three grades. Each grade gets its own price. 900 returned earbuds, sorted into like new, open box and used. Example lot for illustration. ### 2. Describe each lot the way a buyer checks it Write the listing for someone who cannot see the stock. For each grade, give: - The condition grade and what it means for this lot - What is in the box, such as the charger, cable, case and manual - Quantity in each grade - Photos of real units from each grade, not catalogue images - Location of the stock and the minimum order - Price per unit, or a clear invitation to make an offer Be exact about condition. A buyer who finds used units in a like-new carton will dispute the order, and settling that takes longer than describing the stock properly in the first place. ### 3. Set a floor price for each grade Like-new units are worth more than used ones, so give each grade its own floor price: the lowest price you will accept. Set it before the first offer arrives. If you set one price for all 900 units, either the like-new units go too cheaply or the lot waits for a buyer who wants all three grades. Let buyers take one grade or several. An online seller may want only the like-new units. A value retailer may take the open-box and used units together. ### 4. Choose who can buy, and keep the stock away from your own customers Returns sold cheaply in front of your full-price customers hurt your brand. Decide where each lot can go: - Buyer types. Online sellers who list open-box stock, value retailers and wholesalers. - Regions. Towns where you do not sell today, or markets abroad if you allow it. - Brand name. You can list a lot without naming the brand, and show it only to buyers you approve. Check every buyer before they see a lot: GST or VAT registration and KYC. Fence it off Choose who can buy each grade. Keep it away from your full-price stock. Open for this lot - Online sellers of open-box stock Open - Value retailers Open - Wholesalers Open - Towns you do not serve today Open Closed for this lot - Your core distributors’ regions Closed - Stores where you sell new stock Closed - Brand name in the listing Hidden - Buyers you have not approved Closed Rules are set per lot and can change at any time. ### 5. Get paid before the stock ships Ask for payment in advance, before dispatch. A buyer who is unhappy with the condition of returned stock can hold back payment if they have not paid yet. Taking payment first, and describing the stock exactly, avoids that. Issue a GST invoice for each sale, and keep a record of which buyer took which grade, so you know whom to offer the next batch of returns to. ### Where Lotvine fits Lotvine runs these steps for you. You upload a stock file with the condition of each unit. You can also offer lots in towns where you do not sell today, or abroad if you allow it. How should I grade returned stock? Sort every unit into like new, open box or used before you price it. Keep faulty units out of these lots, or list them separately and say they do not work. Should I sell returns as one lot or by grade? By grade. Give each grade its own floor price, so buyers can take the units they want and the like-new units do not go at the used price. ### Have stock that won't move? We'll show you who would buy it.
